In this intensive, four week course, I’ll help you structure, start and end your first chapter in a way that grabs readers and lays the foundation for your book. I’ll also help you bring it to life through key narrative techniques and provide personal coaching to guide you along the way.

Hugo House: Write Your Memoir — How to Structure, Outline, and Bring Your Story to Life

In this intensive crash-course, NYT-bestselling memoir author and book coach Ingrid Ricks will arm you with the tools you need to effectively dive into your memoir. She’ll start by teaching you the three most common story structure techniques, and then walk you through the simple
outlining process she employs for every book project she takes on. From there, she’ll delve into the six powerful narrative writing techniques you need to bring your memoir to life. Be prepared to write! This class includes a lunch break.

Note: This is an intensive five-week course with video lessons and personal feedback on all writing assignments. The course, which can be completed in five weeks or on your own timeline, includes the submission of a 4-6 page story.
